WordTrails Founder's Edition

WordTrails is a personal and group exploration game, based on the experience of taking an expedition together, on the table. 

In this game, all questions, all answers and all actions one might choose are open for play. Players enter the game, choosing chips and cards, lay them in the order and pattern they choose. As people make choices and respond to one another's moves, trails develop and the adventure is on! Trinkets mark moments of particularly interesting shared experience, and in part two the pieces that received trinkets get pulled together and considered.

The single rule during play is simple: No explanations. You may not explain, and you will not be called on to explain. Have fun!

WordTrails was developed by a professional Guide, who now uses it with friends and clients as a way to explore what it is to be here, together on the trail, here and now.

A note about the Founder's Edition: This is our first major production run, and as such is organized as a test of everything we have put together so far. Having tested it widely for three years, we are confident about the workings of the game. Now we're exploring language, markets, etc, seeking to learn more about where this game will fit, who might enjoy it, what communities it could serve. This edition comes with an invitation to join in and be part of the playtesting process in various ways.
